Kenneth Leonard Moser

Kenneth Leonard Moser, age 78 of 1316 Drumstand Rd, passed away Monday December 24, 2012 at Iredell Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born June 14, 1934 in Alexander County to the late Guy Lynn Moser and Beulah Mae Lackey Moser. Mr. Moser served honorably and with distinction in the United States Air Force from Mar 1954 to Jul 1981 attaining and retiring at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Some of the Chief's service accomplishments include; the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with two bronze oak leaf clusters, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon with one silver oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service Medal with one bronze star, Vietnam Service Medal with one silver star, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with three bronze oak leaf clusters, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one silver oak leaf cluster. He was also a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Fred Moser, and one grandchild Mario Sharpe. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Boyles Moser of the home; two Daughters, Kibbee Moser and Kallee Sharpe both of San Diego CA; Step children: Teena & Jose Longoria of VA, Teresa & Kevin Dyer of TN, Cathy & Scott Yancey of AL, Terry & Kathy Gullion of WV, David & Diana Gullion of Mooresville, Kevin & Sherri Belcher of NY, Ben Belcher of WV; two brothers, Rev. Henry Moser and wife Felicia, Clyde Moser and Janice all of Stony Point; an uncle, J Q Moser of Stony Point; an aunt Ruth Boyd of Taylorsville; grandchildren: Ricky Sharpe, D’chell Sharpe, John Gullion, Robert Gullion, Sonja Carter, Miguel Longoria, Adrian Smith, Brittany Smith, Sidney Belcher, Max Belcher, Benessa, Belcher, Rachael Belcher and Andrea Belcher; great grandchildren: Tylor Carter and Madeleine Carter; several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Thursday December 27, 2012 at Philadelphia United Methodist Church. Rev. Clark and Rev. Henry Moser will officiate. Rev. Ron Karriker will be the eulogist. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military rites will be provided by VFW Hiddenite Post 10000 and Taylorsville Post 5466. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service at the church. Special thanks to Dr. Foushee, Dr. Whitaker and the Staff at the North Iredell Dialysis for their care. And a special thanks also to nephew Gary Moser for his care and assistance. Memorials may be given to the National Kidney Foundation 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
