Ruth Conner Honeycutt

Ruth Conner Honeycutt, 76 of 248 Ford Farm Road, Statesville, passed away Tuesday September 15, 2009 at Gordon Hospice House. She was born April 30, 1933 in Richmond County to the late Marvin Conner and Lelia Stocks Conner. Mrs. Honeycutt was retired from Niemands after many years of service. She was an active member of Stony Point Tabernacle for 40 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of forty five years, Abraham “Abe” Honeycutt; two brothers, Hubert Conner and Paul Conner; a sister, Libby Conner English; and a grandson, Justin Honeycutt. Mrs. Honeycutt is survived by two sons, Tom Lampley and wife Janet of Statesville, Jack Honeycutt and wife Cindy of Statesville; two daughters, Kathleen Prevette and husband Bryce of Statesville, Vivian Snead and husband Alan of Rockingham; two brothers, Johnny Brooks ”Red” Conner of Statesville, and Earl Conner of Rockingham; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and special friends, Parks Johnson and neighbors of Kings Grant Court. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Thursday September 17, 2009 at Stony Point Tabernacle. Rev. Wes Hammer and Rev. Blaine Keaton will officiate. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30pm Wednesday September 16, 2009 at Stony Point Tabernacle and other times will gather at the residence of daughter Kathleen Prevette. Grandsons and nephews will be active and honorary pallbearers: Jeff Pierce, Michael Prevette, Aaron Lampley, Chap Harrington, Chris Snead, Chris Lucas, Eugene Conner, JB Conner, Lynn English, Mark Hager, Caleb Honeycutt. Memorials may be given to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
