Lynn Wade Sloan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lynn Wade Sloan 74 of Statesville passed February 2, 2022, after an extended illness at Gordon Hospice House. Lynn was born in Iredell County on March 21, 1947, to the late Webb Newland Sloan and Ida Lee Goodin Sloan. He was in the US Army and served two tours in the Vietnam war. After returning home he worked for Hunt manufacturing. Lynn was a member and a Sunday School Teacher at Mt Nebo Baptist Church. He also enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Newland Sloan. Survivors include his wife of 53 years Brenda Kay Hope Sloan of the home. Two sons Chris Sloan wife Paula, Randy Sloan wife Melissa both of Statesville. One brother Wayne Sloan wife Betty, one sister Hilda Johnson both of Statesville. Three grandchildren Victoria Sloan, Austin Sloan, and Zackary Sloan. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, February 5th.,2022 11:00 am Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Rev. Brian Eades will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. Burial will follow with full Military Rites at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville.
