Judge Lyman McCrackin

Judge Lyman McCrackin, age 67, of 1167 Sharpe Lane, Hiddenite, passed away Saturday January 17, 2009 after a short illness, at his home. He was born November 3, 1941 in Caldwell County to the late Judge Patrick McCrackin and Icey Evans McCrackin. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a retired truck driver. He was also of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Connell. He is survived by his son, Jake McCrackin and wife Vivian of Hiddenite; two daughters, Rebecca Cole and Janet Cole both of Tennessee; two brothers, Sylva Mack McCrackin and William Burns McCrackin both of Taylorsville; sisters, Mary Ruth Freeman of Taylorsville and Lona Mae Jordan of Troutman; grandchildren, Jennifer White, Ausha Cole, Isabelle Cole, Casey Cole; and great grandchild, Jordan White; and a number of nephews and nieces; a special niece, Julie Freeman. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Thursday January 22, 2009 at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Sam Jordan will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiddenite Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00-9:00pm at Chapman Funeral Home. Pallbearers include: Michael White, Corey Bentley, Ian Taffy, Chris Bruce, James Adkins and James Cook.
