James Wilford Warren, 85, of 141 Absher Farm Loop, Statesville, passed away Wednesday October 27, 2010 at Brian Center of Statesville. He was born on May 27, 1923, in Iredell County, to the late Ernest Lonie Warren and Mattie Pool Warren. Mr. Warren served as Sargeant in the US Army in the “Battle of The Bulge” during WWII. He worked 38 years for Uniglass Industries and was also a member of Concord Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Floyd Warren, Lee Ross Warren and Clyde Warren; three sisters, Ina Benfield, Ada Gatton and Ollie Warren. He is survived by one brother, Ernest Warren of Statesville; and his caregiver, Jeanette Warren. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00pm on Friday October 29, 2010 at Concord Presbyterian Church. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Rev. Kyle Goodman will be officiating. Military rites will be provided by VFW Post 10000 Hiddenite and Taylorsville Post 5466. Memorials may be given to the Concord Presbyterian Church 3867 Taylorsville Hwy., Statesville, NC 28625.
