Beulah Mae Chapman, 90, of 1325 NC Hwy. West, Taylorsville, passed away Tuesday September 8, 2009 at Gordon Hospice House of Statesville, after an extended illness. She was born April 13, 1919 in Alexander County to the late Steven Baity and Isabell Campbell Baity. Mrs. Chapman was a textile worker, she worked at Cannon Mills in Kannapolis and Schneider Mills in Taylorsville. She was also of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David Hugh Chapman; and three brothers, Walter Baity, Rose Baity, and Homer Baity. Survivors include one son, Mikey W. Foutz of Taylorsville; two granddaughters, Sandra Foutz Auton of Taylorsville and Miranda Foutz Haynes of Lincolnton; five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00pm Wednesday September 9, 2009 at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Rev. Chris Auton and Rev. Allen Raby will officiate. Burial will follow in the Little River Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.
