Effie Frances Fincannon Bost

Effie Frances Fincannon Bost, age 86 of Statesville passed away Thursday June 3, 2010 at Iredell Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born December 3, 1923 in Iredell County to the late Thomas David Fincannon and Martha Lou Fincannon. She became the beloved wife of William Clyde Bost on September 30, 1941 and had 69 beautiful years with Clyde and their eight children. She loved having her family around her. She was a homemaker, worked for Scotts Elementary School and was a member of Church of God International. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee Fincannon, Odell Fincannon, Willie Ingram; four sisters, Mary Tucker, Clara Faircloth, Berlie Fox, and Edna Eckerd. In addition to her husband she is survived by her four sons, Bill Bost and wife Audrey of Connelly Springs, David Bost and wife Barbara of Lakeland, FL, Stephen Bost and wife Dee of Pacific Palisades, CA, Jeff Bost and wife Laura of Statesville; four daughters, Karen Jessup of Hudson, Fran Plunkett of Peachtree City, GA, Helen Rainelle of Sanford, FL, Janet Byers and husband Jeff of Statesville; one brother, David Chapman; one sister, Lorene Fox and husband Wade all of Taylorsville; thirteen grandchildren, Toni Potterf of Everett, WA, Ted Bost of Issaquah, WA, Tammy Scruggs of Lakeland, FL, Kacy Mayew of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, Michael Jenner and Chad Jenner of Orlando, FL, Brad and Maggie Plunkett of Peachtree City, GA, Carmen Garcia of Sanford, FL, Gina Kypriardes of Gainesville, FL, Jacob Byers of Chula Vista, CA, Matthew Bost and Noah Bost both of Statesville; and thirteen great grandchildren. There will be a “Celebration of Life” held 4:00pm Saturday June 5, 2010 at the Crossroads Church of God, 345 Nixon Rd. Statesville. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00pm Monday June 7, 2010 at the Stony Point Cemetery. Pastor Mike Nolen will officiate. Special Music will be provided by William Morgan. The family will assemble at the home of Jeff and Janet Byers, at 125 Greenwich Dr., Statesville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Fifth Street Ministries, American Diabetes Association or Hospice in Effie’s honor. The family would like to thank Rhonda Bennett for her care giving during Effie’s final weeks of her life and also thank Sina Brown for her assistance in their time of need.
