Charles Albert Rupard, 59, of 709 Linneys Mill Road, Union Grove, won his battle with cancer, Saturday, May 10, 2008, at his home. He was born on March 17, 1949, in Iredell County, to the late General Lee “GL” Rupard and Grace Jarvis Rupard. He retired after 30 years with Iredell County Dept of Transportation and later worked as a custodian at Central School. Mr. Rupard was a member of Taylor Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ezekiel Paul Rupard; one sister, Irene Padget; one nephew, Lindell Rupard and one niece, Pam Stikeleather.
He is survived by his wife Ann Bell Rupard of the home; one daughter, Tandra Millsaps and husband Ricky of Statesville; one brother, James Rupard and wife Norma of Hiddenite; three sisters, Opal Rupard of Union Grove, Dorothy Baity and husband Jerry of Taylorsville, Linda Call and husband David of Mocksville; two grandchildren, Caroline Millsaps and Justin Millsaps and a number nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00pm at Taylor Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Carl Ray Williams and Rev. Keith Stanley will be officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends, at Chapman Funeral Home, Monday evening from 7:00pm-9:00pm at other times at the home.
Memorials may be given to Iredell County Hospice, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
