Arvil Fred Wingler, age 83 of 221 Old Charlotte Rd. Taylorsville, passed away, Wednesday October 14, 2009 at Iredell Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born on December 22, 1925 in VA, to the late John Wingler and Alice Sheperd Wingler. Mr. Wingler was a member and an usher of Liberty United Methodist Church and enjoyed his friends at the church. He also attended the Western Carolina School of the Deaf. |
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Wingler, Rose Wingler and Hester Wyatt.
He is survived by one brother, Glenn Wingler of North Wilkesboro; one sister, Ila Icenhour of Taylorsville; two nieces, Evelyn Owens of Taylorsville and Wanda Braus of Marshville; three grand nieces, Sandra Smith, Leigh Penninger, and Lyn Pope.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Saturday October 17, 2009 at Liberty United Methodist Church. Rev. Bob Herron and Rev. Wade Wright will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm at the church prior to the service.
Memorials may be given to the Liberty United Methodist Church, 1300 Liberty Church Road, Hiddenite, NC 28636.
