Lovella McAlpin Warren, age 91 of 2511 Old Landfill Rd., Taylorsville passed away Tuesday July 13, 2010 at Catawba Valley Medical Center, after an extended illness. She was born June 8, 1919 in Alexander County to the late Burrett McAlpin and Edith Stafford McAlpin. She was a homemaker and textile worker and was also member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Rowe Warren; three brothers, Paul McAlpin, Harold McAlpin, Caroll McAlpin; three sisters, Addie Carrigan, Sue Lackey, Evelyn Barger.
She is survived by her two sons, Crimmer Warren and wife Myrtle of Taylorsville; Gerald Warren of Taylorsville; two brothers, Jay McAlpin and wife Marcie of Bethlehem, Don McAlpin and wife Edith of Hickory; one sister, Alethie Smith of Granite Falls; six grandchildren: Vickie, Lynn, Jamie, Bradley, Mark, and Hollie; and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 4:30pm Friday July 16, 2010 at Macedonia Baptist Church. Rev. Dan Spears will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:30-4:30pm Friday at the church prior to the funeral hour.

Bradley, I know you are going to miss "Mom" very much. She was truly loved by you. I know she had to be thankful for all the times you went to see her, especially the times you visited her on your way home from work. I know personally the love and care you had for "Mom" as you called her. You were a loving,caring and thoughtful grandson to her.And "thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord" you will see her again one day.
