Clifford W. Warren, 86, of 7992 NC Hwy 90 E, Stony Point, passed away Wednesday September 10, 2008 at his home. He was born on April, 11, 1922, in Alexander County, to the late Julius Monroe “Ted” Warren and Fannie Price Warren. Mr. Warren served in the United States Army during WWII. He was self employed as W & L Builders and was a member of Stony Point United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant son, Monroe Warren and one brother, Luther Ray Warren. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Christopher Warren of the home; best friend, Roger Hartsoe of Stony Point; one niece, Douglas Ann McHargue. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm on Friday September 12, 2008 at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Rev. Deval Mason and Gene Moose will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Stony Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday 7-8:30pm at Chapman Funeral Home and at other times will assemble at the home. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
