Sue Prichard Walker, age 58 of Stony Point passed away Wednesday January 20, 2010 at Gordon Hospice House. She was born July 17, 1951 in Alexander County to the late Kenneth Renn Prichard and Eva Alexander Prichard. She was a member of Stony Point United Methodist Church where she enjoyed working with “her kids” teaching Sunday school and caring for the nursery.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Walker; sister, Martha P Marlowe; niece, Teresa Marlowe; and twin brothers.

She is survived by her brother in law, Leon Marlowe and wife Ann of Stony Point; a niece, Robin Lane and husband Cy of Statesville; a great niece, Kristen Wike; a great nephew, Justin Wike and wife Ashley; two grand nephews, Landon Wike and Camden Walker of Statesville; and many special nephews and nieces; special friends: Louise Walker, Jane Forythe, Melissa Waldroup, Danny Pope and wife Chris of Stony Point, Micki Howard and husband Wesley, Laura and Landon of Denver; Bryan Pope and wife Crystal of Stony Point; aunt, Billie Alexander of Stony Point, Lindsey and Ruth Stikeleather of Statesville;

Godchildren: Amy Gryder, Deanna Watts, Sarah McCurdy, Lucas Levan, Jamie Peoples, Ashley Price, Charles Kurfees, Pooh Kurfees, Ashley Moose, and Amanda Moose.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Saturday January 23, 2010 at Stony Point United Methodist Church. Rev. Sidney Lanier and Rev Duval Mason will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Sterling ARP Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:30-2:30pm prior to the service.

Pallbearers include: Justin Wike, Bryon Pope, Marcus Gryder, Jerry Mayberry, Michael Peoples, Lucas Levan, Pooh Kurfees and Charles Kurfees. Honorary pallbearers include: Jeremy Mayberry, Devin Mayberry, Trey Waugh, David Prichard, Tony Walker, Sonny Waugh, Cole Kurfees and Ashley Price.

Memorials may be given to the Puppet Ministry of Stony Point United Methodist Church 331 Ruritan Park Rd., Stony Point, NC 28678 or Hospice of Iredell County 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625.
