Margaret Dorothy Shoemaker Stout, 89, of 3819 South Chipley Ford Rd., Statesville, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 at Gordon Hospice House. She was born August 23, 1919 in Iredell County. She was a farmer and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Foy Stout; and one son, Dallas Franklin Stout.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Stout and wife Koyng, Billy Ray Stout all of Fort Worth, TX, Jerry Stout and wife Sandra of Sherrills Ford; two daughters, Lillian Tharpe and husband J.C. of Olin, Rachel Perkins and husband Jimmy of Denver; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Robinette, Rev. Charles Cook and Rev. Mike Young will be officiating. Burial will follow in Damascus Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday June 20, 2009 from 7:00-8:30pm at Chapman Funeral Home.
