Jack Dempsey Shelton, 73, of 2642 Statesville Road, Lot #3, North Wilkesboro, passed away, Thursday July 24, 2008 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born on October 31, 1934, in Pennsylvania County, VA, to the late James Shelton and Daisey Woodson Shelton. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, was an industrial worker and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one daughter, Patricia Annette Shelton.
He is survived by his sons, Dempie Shelton and wife Darlene of Wilkesboro, Donnie Shelton of North Wilkesboro, Danny Shelton and wife Tracie of Hays, Ricky Shelton of North Wilkesboro; two sisters, Mamie Shelton Pruitt of Danville, VA and Shirley Shelton Blaylock of Prospect Hills.
A Graveside service will be conducted Sunday July 27, 2008 at 3:00pm at Scenic Memorial Gardens. Military Rites will be provided by VFW Post # 1142 North Wilkesboro. Rev. Dean Rector and Rev. Robert Harris will be officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00pm-3:00pm at Cub Creek Baptist Church.
