Lois Jane Adams Sharpe, 88, of 5334 Cheatham Ford Road, Hiddenite, passed away Sunday, Mar. 30, 2008, at Gordon Hospice House of Statesville. She was born on April 13, 1919, in Alexander County, to the late Harvey Adams and Florence Mayberry Adams. She was a retired textile worker and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Wayne Sharpe; three brothers, Allie Adams, Ruben Adams and an infant brother Jerry Adams.

She is survived by one son, Gayle Dean Sharpe and wife Gladys of Stony Point; one daughter, Betty S Sharpe and husband Joe of Statesville; two brothers, Grady Adams and Paul Adams both of Hiddenite; five sisters, Nellie Gillen of Newbern, NC, Christine Harris of Tennessee, Nancy Watson of Taylorsville, Josephine Millsaps and Pattie Payne, both of Hiddenite; four grandchildren: Chad Monroe Sharpe, Kevin Dean Sharpe, Ben Sharpe and Angela Freeze; two Great grandchildren, Clay Freeze and Garrett Freeze. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 4:00pm at Fairview Baptist Church.Rev. Rual Fox and Rev Bill Dyson will be officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00pm-8:30pm at Chapman Funeral Home, and at other times will assemble at their respective homes.
