James David “Rudy” Rector, age 59, of Shady Rest Nursing Home, passed away, Thursday September 3, 2009 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 23, 1950 in Alexander County to the late Elvin Ransom “Pinto” Rector and Bessie Virginia “Pete” Miller Rector. He was a United States Navy Veteran, furniture worker and was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by three sons, Michael Chapman of Hiddenite, Jeffrey Rector of Taylorsville, Jamie Rector of Hiddenite; one brother, Gale Rector and wife Mary of Stony Point; one sister, Tootie Reynolds and husband Bobby.
A memorial service will be conducted 11:00am Saturday September 5, 2009 at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship. Rev. Ralph Grose will officiate.
