Sarah Louise Petrea, age 61 of 83 Lambert Drive, Hiddenite passed away Tuesday November 10, 2009 at her home, after an extended illness. She was born October, 13, 1948 in Watauga County to the late John H Walsh and Verla Watson Walsh. She was a sander in a furniture factory and was also a member of Laurel Fork Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Gloria Petrea.
She is survived by two sons, Ronnie P Nelson of Hickory and Johnny “Chris” Nelson of Hiddenite; one daughter, Jennie Thomas of Hiddenite; two brothers, Grover Walsh of Taylorsville and Gary Walsh of Lenoir; three sisters, Brenda Medley of West Jefferson, Linda Bare and Dorothy Holsclaw both of Taylorsville; four grandchildren: Josh Nelson, Noah Nelson, Randy Triplett and Phillip Triplett; two great grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Friday November 13, 2009 at Friendship United Methodist Church in Boone. Dr. D Wayne Ratcliffe will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the committal service.
