Laura Little Payne, age 92 of 120 China Grove Rd., China Grove formerly of 297 D. W. Payne Rd., Taylorsville passed away Thursday March 25, 2010 at her home. She was born February 24, 1918 in Alexander County to the late Charley O. Little and Bessie Warren Little. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Wesley Wesleyan Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Durant W. Payne; her stepmother, Lola Teague Little; two brothers, George Little and Paul Little; son in law, Archie McDonald; and one grandson, Benny McDonald.
She is survived by one daughter, Vera McDonald of China Grove; two sisters, Margaret Stikeleather of Taylorsville and Ruth Lentz of Statesville; two grandchildren, Barry McDonald and wife Lisa, and Judy McDonald; five great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; and two step great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Saturday March 27, 2010 at Mt. Wesley Wesleyan Church. Rev. Steve Wilson and Rev. Eric Yelton will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the funeral service at the church.

| Vera, I am so sorry I am unable to come to the Funeral Today. Your Mother was such a precious Lady. I always loved coming to your house when we were in school. Your Dad and Mother were both special to me and so is their "little girl" whom they cherished. May God Bless you and your family. One day we will walk the Streets of Gold and talk about things that are important to us at that time. We may talk about our childhood but we may be so excited about what has been prepared for us that our childhood will not even be of any importance at that time. I don't know all about our future I just know it is going to be good because our Father prepared it for us.
