Marlene Janette Nelson, age 73, of 167 Andy Lane, Stony Point, passed away, Sunday September 27, 2009 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, after an extended illness. She was born on July 10, 1935 in Three Oaks, MI, to the late John Gearhart and Beth Duddleson Gearhart. She was a homemaker and she was also of the Presbyterian faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her four sisters, Phyllis, Helen, Florence, and Nancy.
She is survived by her husband, George Olaf Nelson of the home; three sons, George O. Nelson, Jr., Timothy Scott Nelson, Edwin Gearhart Nelson all of Stony Point; one daughter, Barbara Ann Powers of Stony Point; two brothers, George Gearhart, Loyd Gearhart both of Three Oak, MI; three sisters, Mary Lou, Louise, and Sharon all of MI; six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted in Three Oaks, Michigan at a later date.
