Arletta Lee Ann Minton, age 21 of 7383 Millersville Rd., Taylorsville, passed away Sunday April 4, 2010 in Lincoln County as a result of an automobile accident. She was born September 11, 1988 to Raymond Minton and Arlene Brown Minton of Taylorsville. She worked for Market Basket convenience stores. She was also a member United Missionary Baptist Church in Claremont.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jacob David Lee Fletcher; and a sister, Sylvia M. Rector; and a special Uncle Harold Minton.
In addition to her parents she is survived by a daughter, Gretchen Lee Ann Minton of the home; five brothers, Scott Kerley and wife Keri, Danny Kerley and wife Jessica, Andrew Kerley and wife Kellie all of Bethlehem; Terry Minton and wife Linda of Hiddenite, Donnie Minton and wife Helen of Stony Point; two specials aunts, Kathleen Looper and Linda Bowman both of Taylorsville; a special uncle, "Uncle G." and a number nephews and nieces and lots of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 pm Friday April 9, 2010 at the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Curtis Hagler will officiate. Burial will following the Hiddenite Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:30pm Thursday evening at Chapman Funeral Home.

I only met Arletta maybe once she was a very close friend to my mom. Every time i talk to my mom she would have something nice to say about Arletta. My mom would tell me about the crazy things Arletta would do when she would see her and the happiness that my mom had in her voice made me so happy that we knew Arletta. When i heard about Arletta's passing i just really didnt know what to think especially since i had just wanted to go see her. It just shocked me that she was so young and was in that accident. I must say that I kind of know your pain because I have had a Grandma and a Grandpa pass, but i wouldn't know what it would be like for Arletta's siblings or for you Arlene.May God be with you and bless you and may Gretchen be in good and loving hands!I love you all!
