Mary Lizzie Bost Miller
, 87, of 235 Ross Catfish Drive, Statesville, passed away after an extended illness Monday, December 29, 2008 at Maple Leaf Healthcare Center. She was born January 18, 1921, in Iredell County to the late William Preston Bost and Lizzie Estelle Weston Bost. She was a homemaker and also worked at Iredell Knitting Mills. She was a member of the Sharon Evangelical Lutheran Church.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ross H. “Catfish” Miller; three brothers: Albert Bost, Kenneth Bost, and Francis Bost; five sisters: Lois Boan, Evelyn Thompson, Inez Rabon, Louise Crawford, and Rachel Lamberth.

She is survived by two sons: Jerry C. Miller and wife Christine, Ronald G. Miller and wife Elaine, all of Statesville; three daughters: Frances Miller Duncan, Barbara Miller Loftin, and husband Kevin, and Andrea Gale Miller Dees, stepdaughter Joyce M. Funderburk, all of Statesville; two brothers: Charles Bost and Raeford Bost, both of Statesville; sisters: Dorothy Ottone and Ruth Dagenhart, both of Statesville; Seventeen - grandchildren: Tina Carpenter, Daniel R. Ottone, Michael C. Ottone, Rodney Pope, Mary Gantt, Scott Johnson, Robin Yount, Angela Killian, Stacy Miller, Shanda Miller, Amy Miller, Kathy Miller, Lisa Ketsdever, Erica Craig; step grandchildren: Benny Phifer,  Rebecca Akardi, Chris Phifer Eighteen Great Grandchildren: Dustin Millsaps, Shana Carpenter, Nicholas Ottone, Matthew Pharr, Zachary Yount, Derrick Smit, Lauren Killian, Tanner Killian, Taylor Gantt, Mary Pope, Christopher Pope, Tripp Johnson, Summer Johnson, Bellami Miller, Gavin Craig, Hayden Craig, Kyle Ketsdever, and Heather Moose.

 

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Friday January 2, 2009 at Sharon Lutheran Church. Dr. Ernest Bolick and Rev. Jim Sneed will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 2:00-3:00pm at the church. Pallbearers include: Scott Johnson, Stacy Miller, Rodney Pope, Daniel Ottone, Michael Ottone, and Dustin Millsaps.
