Judge Arthur Miller, 58, of Stony Point passed away Monday June 1, 2009, at Gordon’s Hospice House. He was born on March 31, 1951 in Hampton, TN to the late Jim Miller and Pearl Whitehead Miller. He was a machinist and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one step daughter, Debbie Marlow; one sister, Pamela Garr; four nephews, Scott Garr, Jamie Rosembaum, Timmy Shankle, Roy Morgan.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Miller of the home; one son, Doug Miller; five grandchildren all of Hampton, TN; one step daughter, Brenda Sparks and husband Charles; two step grandchildren all of Spruce Pine; four brothers, Eddie Miller and friend Lisa of Hiddenite, Jimmy Miller and wife Pat, Raymond Morgan and wife Evelyn both of Stony Point, Roy Morgan and wife Gertie of Statesville; eight sisters, Betty Tibbetts and husband Mike, Bea Davis and husband Buddy, Molly McClanahan all of Stony Point, Ronnetta Miller of Hiddenite, Rhoda Wilker of Brooklyn, MD, Rome Jean Blevin of Hampton, TN, Retha Shankle of Etowat, TN, and RainElla Daniels of Johnson City, TN; one special grandson, Jeffrey Marlow; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Thursday June 4, 2009 at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Isaac Pettis will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00-2:00pm at Chapman Funeral Home prior to the funeral hour and other times at the home, but keep visits brief due to the health of the wife. Pallbearers include: Greg Miller, Sam Miller, Mitch Miller, Scott Rosenbaum, Roy Morgan and Alvin Morgan. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice of Iredell County 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625.
