Jerry Meredith, 60, of Hiddenite, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 14, 2008 at his home. He was born March 4, 1948 in Iredell County to the late Sam Woodrow Meredith and Lucy Esther Sharpe Meredith. He had worked as a carpenter and a machine operator. He loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Wyatt Meredith; one son Terry Meredith; one daughter, Kathy M. Church; two granddaughters Elizabeth Meredith and Samantha Meredith; two brothers, Roger Meredith and Timmy Meredith; three sisters, Peggy Elder, Wanda Daniels and Hilda Kennedy. No formal funeral services were held.
