Annie Lou Johnson McDaniels, 77, of 167 Trent Road, Statesville, passed away, Wednesday November 26, 2008 at Iredell Memorial Hospital from a brief bout with cancer. She was born May 10, 1931, in Iredell County to the late Alem Wilson Johnson and Troy Katherine Somers Johnson. Annie was a homemaker and loved to garden, can and crochet. She was also a member of Crestview Baptist Church. To be absent from the body tells us we are present with the Lord, she will be missed by many.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Danny Ray Johnson and Lloyd David Locklear; four brothers, Charlie Johnson, Grover Johnson, Johndee Johnson, and Jimbo Johnson.
Her survivors include her husband, Willard S. McDaniels of the home; one son, Troy F. Locklear and wife Melanie of Statesville; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Austin, Logan and Aaron; one step daughter, Willie Mae McDaniels Parker of Taylorsville.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday November 30, 2008 at Crestview Baptist Church. Rev. Roy Pierce will be officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00-8:30pm at Chapman Funeral Home.
