Janice Louise Watts McClain, 61, of Trina Lane, Hiddenite, passed away Tuesday March 10, 2009 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born August 15, 1947 in Iredell County to the late Sam and Lula Morrison Watts. She was a 1965 graduate of Unity High School and a former employee of Craftmaster Furniture in Hiddenite. She joined Clarks Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and after marriage she united with Third Creek Baptist Church where she sang in the Golden Star Chorus and was active in Sunday School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Lawrence McClain; and a daughter, Trina Ann McClain; two brothers, Lonnie Watts, Gilbert Watts; and a sister Gladys Watts.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 37 years, James Charlie McClain; a son, Nathan McClain and wife Beth all of the home; a daughter, Emma M Dye and husband Anthony of Hiddenite; five sisters, Mary Watts, Ruby Watts, Ella Mae Watts, June Ingram, Dorothy Seamore and husband Raymond, Emily Mayberry and husband Charles all of Statesville; grandchildren: Geneva Dye, A J Dye, Jamie Dye, Darion Campbell, Alyah and Anyia McClain; sisters in law, Linda Dye, Jackie McClain, Lou Ann Watts, Gladys Hill, Maxine Parker and husband Johnnie; brother in law, Leonard McClain and wife Peggy; a niece and goddaughter, Rosie Watts; five aunts, Anna Morrison, Lelia Tatum, Corine Morrison, Nevanna Waddell, Jo Carolyn Morrison; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Saturday March 14, 2009 at Third Creek Baptist Church. Rev Sterling Howard and Rev C B Mingo will be officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 6:00-7:30pm at Chapman Funeral Home.
