Hazel Drum Leaper, 82, of 450 Vic Court, Hiddenite, passed away Tuesday October 7, 2008 at her home. She was born on April 26, 1926, in Alexander County, to the late James O. Drum and Mamie Abernathy Drum. She retired from Southern Device and was a member of New Salem Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Grover Drum, Earl Drum and Jerry Drum; three sisters, Ruby Carter, Francis Burnette, Helen Cox. |
Survivors include her husband, Alfred Leaper of the home; one son, Ronnie Leaper of Hiddenite; one brother, James Drum and wife Glenda of Ellendale; three sisters, Jean Sipe and husband Junior of Taylorsville, Dorothy Lowery and husband Carl of Salisbury, Carolyn Black of Mt Holly; one grandchild, Danielle Leaper of Hickory.Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm on Thursday at New Salem Presbyterian Church. Rev. George Holleman will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:30-2:00pm at the church and other times at the home.Memorials may be given to New Salem Presbyterian Church, 4415 Old Mountain Road, Stony Point, NC 28678.
