Elizabeth Goodwin Lackey, 87, of 235 E Lackey Farm Rd., Stony Point, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Britthaven Nursing Center in Wilkesboro. She was born on March 24, 1921, in Iredell County, to the late James Bartlett Goodwin and Mary Sloan Goodwin. Mrs. Lackey was a homemaker. Mr and Mrs Lackey were dairy farmers. She was a member of Taylorsville Bible Chapel and was active at Hickory Cove Bible Camp.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband E. Jack Lackey; one brother, J C Goodwin and one sister, Frances Goodwin.
She is survived by her sons, Edward Lackey Jr. and wife Dixie of Stony Point, Tom C Lackey and wife Ann of Lexington, Donald P Lackey and wife Mary of Stony Point, David R Lackey and wife Jan of Statesville; one daughter, Pat Blok and husband Hank of Kingston Ontario; twelve grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday July 14, 2008 at 11:00am at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Lee Zehmer and Bill Hubler will be officiating. Burial will follow in the New Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00pm-8:30pm at Chapman Funeral Home, and other times at the home of her son Edward, 1005 Smith Farm Rd., Stony Point.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625.
