Barbara Carelock Ivey, age 60 of 101 Long Branch Rd., Statesville passed away Sunday April 18, 2010 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born July 13, 1949 in Richmond County to the late John William Carelock and Johnnie Eusala Smith Carelock. She was a textile worker and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Russell.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Ivey, Sr. of the home; two sons, Ronald Ivey, Jr. of Monks Corner, SC and Joseph Ivey and wife Kelly of Statesville; one daughter, Barbara Marie Hance and husband Joseph of Statesville; three brothers, Charles Carelock and wife Linda of Stony Point, Dean Carelock of Mooresville and twin brother, Robert Carelock of Chapel Hill; one sister, Annie Van Shropshire of Greensboro; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
A memorial service will be conducted 3:00pm Wednesday April 21, 2010 at the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Robert Eugene Ivey will officiate.
