Martha Kaye Darnell Hurst, age 54 of 58 Memory Lane, Hiddenite passed away Thursday October 22, 2009 at her home, after an extended illness. She was born December 29, 1954 in Sullivan County, TN to the late Jim Darnell and Margie Taylor Darnell. Mrs. Hurst was a cook, waitress, and artist – she loved drawing and painting. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Edward Milburn.
She is survived by her husband, Donald L “Jack” Hurst of the home; one son, Donald L. “Donnie” Hurst, Jr. and wife Lora of Thomasville; one daughter, Sherry Hurst of Gray, TN; one brother, Rick Crawford and wife Connie of Taylorsville; two sisters, Joyce Stevens and Jo Rita Butler both of Kingsport, TN; and grandchildren: Brian Keith Russell, Savannah Russell, Jessie Hurst, Kathleen Michelle Hurst, and Jackie Hurst.
A memorial service will be conducted 2:00pm Thursday November 5, 2009 at Northside Baptist Church. Rev. Randall Roberts will officiate.
