Cyrus Devon “C.D.” Honeycutt, age 81, of Huntersville, passed away, Saturday November 21, 2009 at The Serenity House in Mooresville after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 19, 1928, to the late Frank and Gertrude Honeycutt. He served in the US Navy for 7 years and retired from Yellow Freight after 43 years of service. He was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church, West Gate Masonic Lodge, and Teamsters Local 71 and was a 32nd Degree Mason with Scottish rite.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Yvonne Morris and husband Tony, Krista Hunter and husband Jason; son, Captain Jason Honeycutt and wife Amie; grandson, Tony Morris II and wife Mylan; granddaughters, Madelynn, Grace and Ellie Honeycutt; and great granddaughter, Hannah Morris.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00am Wednesday November 25, 2009 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Huntersville. The visitation will precede the service from 10:00-11:00am.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Lake Norman, 705 Griffith Street, Suite 203, Davidson, NC 28036 and The Serenity House, 110 Centre Church Rd., Mooresville, NC 28117.
