Stephen Wilson “Steve” Grant, 60, of 9161 Paul Payne Store Road, Stony Point, passed away Tuesday August 18, 2009 at his home. He was born September 8, 1948 in Iredell County to Nellie Bass Haithcox of Statesville and the late Clifford Grant. Mr. Grant was employed by the NC Dept of Correction and was also a member of Concord Baptist Church.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his step father, John Haithcox.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Starnes Grant; one son, Dustin Grant; one daughter Heather Grant; and one grandson, Colby Huss all of the home
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Saturday August 22, 2009 at Concord Baptist Church. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Rev. Tony Dyson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30pm Friday August 21, 2009 at Concord Baptist Church.
Pallbearers include: Gary Sigmon, Spencer Cline, Robert Butler, Stephen Huss, Sean Ritchie, Buddy Hammer. Honorary Pallbearers include: Robert Hoover, Mike Howard.
