Bellmer Dishmond Davis, age 89 of 122 Franly Dr., Statesville passed away Sunday June 13, 2010 at Davis Regional Medical Center, after an extended illness. She was born July 29, 1920 in Iredell County to the late Johnnie Lee Dishmond and Notie McDaniel Dishmond. She was a homemaker and was also member of Taylor Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Houston “Shack” Davis; two daughters, Louise Skeens, and Susie Ann Davis; two sisters, Julie Shoemaker and Lena Bell Grant; two grandsons, Scotty Davis and Darrell Davis
She is survived by her four sons, Homer James Davis and wife Mae of Olin, Tommy Davis and wife Gail of Stony Point, Randy Davis and wife Brenda of Stony Point, Bobby Davis and wife Lea of Oregon; three daughters, Nellie Danyels and husband Jim of Olin, Janie Hatton and husband Nicky of Tennessee, Jo Ann Sherrill and Michael Meadows of Statesville; two brothers, Ralph Dishmond and Chester Dishmond both of Statesville; one sister, Eula Benge of Statesville; twenty three grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; one step great grandchild; and twenty great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Saturday June 19, 2010 at Taylor Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Carl Ray Williams and Rev. Lloyd Jarvis will officiate. Body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30pm Friday evening at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include: Daniel Davis, Jonathan Sherrill, Allen Hayes, Billy Shumaker, Justin Todd, and Justin Davis.
