James Monroe Brown, age 66 of 155 Stony Point School Road, Stony Point passed away Monday January 18, 2010 in Jefferson County, TN, after a brief illness. He was born January 26, 1943 in Wilkes County to the late Monroe Quincy Brown and Ada Hart Brown.. Mr. Brown worked in furniture as a machine operator. He was also a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Wilkes County. |
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandchild, Isaac Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Garnett Meredith Brown of the home; two sons, James Monroe Brown, Jr. and wife Cathy of Taylorsville, Michael Wayne Brown and wife Shelly of Hiddenite; one step son, Jimmy Chapman and wife Angela of Conover; three brothers, Ray Brown and wife Mary of Wilkesboro, Roy Brown and wife Kathy of Taylorsville, Larry Brown of Hiddenite; three sisters, Wanda Gwaltney and husband Gary of Stony Point, Sally Minton and husband Frank of Moravian Falls, and Linda Osborne of Wilkesboro; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Thursday January 21, 2010 at the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gary Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the Stony Point Tabernacle Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm Wednesday January 20, 2010 at Chapman Funeral Home.
