William Edgar Branton Sr., 75, of 452 Bess Rd., Statesville, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Catawba County Hospice. He was born on March 31, 1933, in Alexander County, to the late William Anderson Branton and Truly Mae Campbell Branton. Mr. Branton was a retired barber and truck driver. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. |
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Long Branton; one brother, J.W. Branton and one sister, Rowena Wall.
He is survived by his son, William Edgar Branton Jr of Kannapolis; four daughters, Linda, Brenda, Debra and Vicky; one brother, Donald Rayford Branton and wife Nancy of Statesville.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday July 3, 2008 at 2:00pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 504 Whites Mill Rd., Statesville. Rev. Dermont Crabtree and Rev. Chris Haslip will be officiating. Burial will be in the Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00pm at 8:30pm at Chapman Funeral Home. And other times at their respective homes.
