Loretta Kay Baity, 61, of Ridgeway Apartments, 1st Ave Circle SE, Apt A, Taylorsville, passed away Saturday October 4, 2008 at her home. She was born on December 27, 1946, in Alexander County, to the late Roosevelt Lee Baity and Zula Lenoir Millsaps Baity. She was a textile worker and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Mission.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Colleen Reavis; one great granddaughter, Alyssa Webb.Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Peoples and husband Terry of Salisbury, Darla Ann Johnson and husband Jerry of Taylorsville, Dawn “Dee-Dee” Walton and fiance Brian Byrne of Newton; two brothers, Kenneth Baity of Granite Falls, Gary Baity and wife Regina of Gamewell; four sisters, Lois Beckham of China Grove, Ellen Roberts of Hiddenite, Rachel Jolly of Hiddenite, Lucille Baity of Salisbury; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted 1pm on Wednesday at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James M. Byer will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm prior to the funeral hour and other times at the home. Cremation will follow at a later date.

I (Johnny Sharpe) and Donald Warren where classmates of Loretta at Hiddenite School. Please know our family here will be praying the Lord will comfort you with His peace….surround you with His love…and encourage you knowing Loretta is now in a better place. I remember the times we spent during our school years. Trust me when I say she will be missed.
